Abstract

This research aims to determine the best panel data regression model for factors that influence poverty levels in Papua. The variables used in this research consist of poverty level, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), Human Development Index (HDI), and open unemployment rate. The data used in this research is secondary data taken from the Papua Central Statistics Agency. The cross-section data in this study was taken from 29 regencies/cities in Papua Province, while the time series data in this study was taken from 2017-2021. Based on the results of the data processing that has been carried out, the best panel data regression model obtained is Fixed Effect Model (FEM) with the panel data regression equation being . From the research that has been conducted, it was found that the GRDP variable has a significant influence on the Poverty Level variable, while the HDI variable and Open Unemployment Rate do not have a significant influence on the Poverty Level variable in Papua.
