The journal takes all allegations of research misconduct seriously and handles them fairly, confidentially, and in accordance with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

2. Types of Research Misconduct

Research misconduct may include:

Any individual may report suspected misconduct to the Editor-in-Chief through the journal's official contact channel. Reports should include sufficient information and supporting evidence.

The editorial team will:

  1. Conduct an initial assessment of the allegation.
  2. Request clarification or supporting documentation when necessary.
  3. Allow the individuals concerned an opportunity to respond.
  4. Consult relevant institutions or research ethics bodies when appropriate.
  5. Make editorial decisions based on available evidence and established publication ethics principles.

All allegations will be handled impartially, with due consideration for confidentiality and fairness.

4. Editorial Actions

Depending on the findings and severity of the case, JIS may take appropriate actions, including:

  • Rejecting or suspending manuscript processing.
  • Requesting corrections or clarifications.
  • Publishing an expression of concern.
  • Issuing a correction or retraction.
  • Referring serious allegations to the relevant institution.

Editorial actions will follow applicable COPE guidance and aim to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.

JIS protects the confidentiality of individuals involved in misconduct investigations to the extent reasonably possible. Allegations will be assessed objectively, and no disciplinary conclusion will be made solely on the basis of an unverified accusation.

6. Policy Review

This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure consistency with internationally recognized standards of publication ethics and responsible scientific publishing.
