Abstract: Cerumen plays an important role in protecting the ears and maintaining ear hygiene and health. In some cases, cerumen can accumulate and form a mass that can cause ear canal blockage, known as impacted cerumen. This study aimed to obtain the characteristics of patients with impacted cerumen. This was a descriptive retrospective study that using medical record data of patients with impacted cerumen at the ear nose throat, head and neck surgery polyclinic at Prof. Dr. R. D. Kandou General Hospital in Manado from 2023 to 2024. The results showed that of the total 474 research samples, the majority were male patients (60.34%) and the rest were female patients (39.66%), with the largest age group being children aged 0-9 years (50%), who had no history of ear infection (93.04%) and no anatomical factors affecting the formation of impacted cerumen (97.89%).
