Focus and Scope

ZOOTEC is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by the Faculty of Animal Sciences, Sam Ratulangi University, Manado, Indonesia. The journal publishes original research articles and review articles that contribute to the advancement of animal sciences, livestock production, and sustainable animal agriculture.

ZOOTEC covers the following areas:

  1. Livestock Production: Animal breeding, genetics, reproduction, livestock management, production efficiency, animal welfare, and sustainable livestock farming systems.

  2. Animal Feed and Nutrition: Animal nutrition, feed formulation, feed resources, forage production, feed processing, nutrient utilization, and alternative feed ingredients.

  3. Livestock Socio-Economics: Livestock agribusiness, farm management, marketing, economic efficiency, agricultural extension, farmer empowerment, and livestock development policies.

  4. Animal Product Technology: Processing, preservation, quality, safety, and innovation in meat, milk, eggs, and other animal-derived products.

  5. Animal Health: Livestock disease prevention and control, animal physiology, biosecurity, health management, and animal welfare.

  6. Potential Companion and Wildlife Animals: Biology, nutrition, reproduction, behavior, management, conservation breeding, and sustainable utilization of non-conventional and wildlife animal species.

ZOOTEC welcomes scientifically rigorous and original studies that address current challenges and innovations in animal sciences. All submitted manuscripts must demonstrate scientific relevance, methodological quality, originality, and compliance with research and publication ethics.
