Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of job stress and work-life balance on turnover intention among agents at PT FWD Insurance Megamas area of Manado. The research adopts a quantitative approach using the probability sampling method. This method was chosen based on the consideration that the total population of agents in the company exceeds 100 people, making random sampling techniques relevant and representative. A total of 68 respondents were randomly selected to provide a general overview of the conditions being studied. Data were collected through questionnaires processed using the SmartPLS 4 application. The findings of the study revealed several important points. First, job stress does not have a direct and significant influence on turnover intention, or employees’ desire to leave the company. Second, job stress has a positive influence on work-life balance, indicating that under certain stressful conditions, employees become more aware of the importance of maintaining a balance between personal life and work. Third, work-life balance significantly affects turnover intention. In other words, the better the work-life balance perceived by employees, the lower their desire to resign. These findings have important implications for management in formulating strategic employee retention policies, particularly by supporting programs that promote a healthy and sustainable work-life balance.
