AKTIVITAS ANTIKANKER SERVIKS RUMPUT LAUT Sargassum sp

Kanker merupakan kondisi patologis yang menjadi salah satu utama penyebab kematian didunia. Selama beberapa dekade terakhir, langkah luar biasa telah dibuat untuk mengurangi insiden dan kematian kanker serviks dengan penerapan berbagai strategi pencegahan dan pengobatan. Tujuan penulisan artikel ilmiah untuk menemukan senyawa antikanker baru, yang sangat penting untuk pengobatan kanker dari rumput laut, karena rumput laut adalah salah satu produk laut sumber terbesar metabolit kimia aktif. Penelusuran literature menggunakan kata kunci, Sargassum sp, kanker serviks, HPV, obat antikanker serviks. Metode pengumpulan literature mengunakan elelectronic data base: PubMed, Web of Science, Science Direct, Elsevier, Springer Google and Google Scholar. Hasil yang diperoleh:, mekanisme senyawa antikanker melawan virus, aktifitas sitotoksik rumput laut melawan sel HeLa dan bebetapa jenis obat antikanker. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa Sargassum sp. mempunyai aktifitas sitotoksik melawan sel HeLa, sehingga dapat dijadikan sumber obat antikanker serviks. Rumput laut Sargassum sp. yang tumbuh melimpah di Indonesia dapat digunakan didalam pengobatan untuk menurunkan tingkat kasus dan kematian akibat kanker.
